BEACON, N.Y. -- Elena Marie Eckert, of Beacon, died Saturday, Nov. 19. She was 53.
Born Nov. 2, 1963, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Joseph DiRubbio and Sophia Charkalis DiRubbio.
She recently retired from being a corrections officer at Fishkill Correctional Facility. She also was a former waitress and bartender for Trump National of the Hudson Valley in Stormville.
Survivors include: her son, William Daniel Eckert and his fiance Danielle Lee Soto; mother, Sophia Charkalis DiRubbio and her companion, Jason Morse; sister, Danette DiRubbio; brother, Dean P. DiRubbio and his wife Deborah of Beacon; two grandchildren, William Alexander and Elizabeth Ella; and former husband, William James Eckert.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Libby Funeral Home Inc. 55 Teller Ave., Beacon.
There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by entombment in Fishkill Rural Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 38105.
